~Mesquite Creek Woods Monday Update~ lark sparrow nesting

This year at the Mesquite Creek Cottage the killdeer did not nest on our drive, but the Lark Sparrow did next in our back yard on the graveled path to the swimming pool.
We placed a center block about a foot from her nest to block the 30+ mph winds she was receiving. Fortunately she tolerates me checking on her daily without making a peep. We respect her space and privacy. I am not sure the eggs with hatch, the Lark Sparrow has been nesting for almost two weeks, and we had an entire week of unseasonable cool weather. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they do hatch.

~Mesquite Creek Woods Monday Update~ end of the month wrap up

~Mesquite Creek Woods Monday Update~ end of the month wrap up
this is Lobby the Lobster, I free-handed painted him onto our pack porch he is about 4 feet long, and he makes me smile every single time I see him! Our swimming pool took more shock than we expected but as of today we have pretty blue pool water and if the temperature warms up we could actually go swimming this next weekend. The four lawns are super green and and I am just over flowing with happiness over how beautiful the Mesquite Creek Property is looking

~Mesquite Creek Woods Monday Update~
  last week in March 2012
This weekend the theme was birthday and green
The entire Mesquite Woods over night burst out with green
It was everywhere, green
One of my roses bloomed they are a yellow/orange and smell sweet like honey
This was also the weekend we celebrated my little nieces birthday. She turned 6 yrs old and I enjoyed watching the magic of birthday wishes display over her face like a rainbow of color and emotion.
The flowers in my the picture are the wildflowers I saw this week.

~Mesquite Creek Woods Monday Update~
  weekend 4
The first of the week looked a little something like this

They say in Texas if you don't like the weather, stick around it will change
Pictured is clove, see any four leaf clover? The Mesquite leaves are blooming

Next we have the weather forecast this helps us plan for next year
With the weather so nice we took a day trip across the border to Oklahoma, say cheese and smile

We also spent sometime outside planting roses
Grilling outside, first grill for the year, it was someone spontaneous so we didn't have time to call and invite family over. The grilling was how we wasted time charging up the boat battery, we wanted to go for a boat ride, mainly due to the wind was only 9 miles an hour which is almost a still day in Wichita Falls, normal wind is 20mph

Lastly that day we went star walking with our iphones, the following pictures were taking with our iphone so you can imagine just how big it was in person
Weekend of Face of the day
the hubs before and after of the removal of beloved "King Tut"
We ended the weekend with a surprise flower from the Hubs, as you can see just one bloom is larger than my head!, Imagine!
Over all it was a great weekend, we also hung a new mirror over the Hubs office fireplace and made future plans for his new gun case and some re-vamping in my closet.

Happy Love to you All from the owners of the Mesquite Creek Cottage
